Jason Sawyer

Senior Environmental Scientist

Jason joined the team at Northstar Engineering in 2006 as an environmental scientist to help manage the environmental services needed to meet regulatory agency requirements for the development of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.  Jason has knowledge and experience of regulatory requirements for completing projects in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.  He routinely works with local, state and federal agencies including: ADEM, Florida DEP, NWFWMD, Georgia EPD, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, as well as State and County Health Departments and City municipalities. 

Jason has experience in providing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Assessments and for real estate transactions, construction stormwater permitting and inspections, wetland delineations and mitigation projects, soil evaluations and perc tests for onsite septic system design and large flow developments, preparation of Construction Best Management Practices Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, and environmental permitting for various commercial and industrial projects.   In addition, Jason has experience in Construction Engineering & Inspections (CEI) on ALDOT and municipal projects.  He currently holds certifications in ALDOT Roadway HMA Pavement Tech, ACI concrete field testing tech and QCI certification for construction stormwater inspections.    

Jason received a BS in Environmental Science from Mercer University in 1997 and a MS in Environmental Analysis and Management from Troy University in 2002.   He enjoys spending time outdoors with his daughter Libby Kate and is a member of First United Methodist Church in Dothan.
